Falling in love...with music
So seriously,
i was wondering, is there ever going to be another Ryan Adams...you know the feeling when you first hear a record by an artist you are not familiar with but you instantly know that you want to have every cd, live show, bootleg, dvd, single and also every other crappy thing that this very artist ever put onto record...i have had this twice, first with Ryan Adams and then with Mark Kozelek and of course the Red House Painters/Sun Kil Moon...
and while i was passing my days with good music and extensive listening i never ever got to that very point where a band or artist just you know...you can not stop reading the wikipedia article, reading about the Eps and Lps and collecting them all...
while i thought that thing may never happen again...it just did this week and it did with a bang because not only one band no but two bands have taken over my brain and addiction...
Okkervil River and Shearwater...well to be honest you could say it is only one band because Shearwater is formed by the two main songwriters from Okkervil River but still...
and to sum it up why...because if you record a piano and then play it backwards in one of your songs you are interesting...and that is what can be heared on Shearwaters new record "Rook"...so far so good, i hope i got it right and if not i could be wrong...
